Plea
There's an old saw that says "Cold Hands, Warm Heart."Let's strip our gloves off, then, and make a start.
With fingers blue with cold, my frozen mitts
would wind their way around your warmer bits!
As sometimes happens push will come to shove
so "Hand In Glove" sometimes tries "HandInG Love."
If your cold heart forgives that awesome pun -
I'll doff my Freudian Slip and we'll have FUN!
(*) Caddoc Trellis, who else?
So funny .... fun it is then!
ReplyDeleteWhy,oh why did I ever offer to be Ringmaster in this Matrimonial Circus . . . ?
ReplyDeleteoh yes go for the warmer bits! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteNever has my heart been cold!
ReplyDeleteYou know you've kept it glowing
despite our warring ways of old!
I promise, I'll keep blowing
warm breath upon your digits;
I look forward to their wandering
like cosy, frisky midgets,
dancing round me where they will,
for not aften does my Ada choose
to give me such a thrill!
very witty - love the freudian slip!
ReplyDeleteMade me laugh. Great Magpie.
ReplyDeleteThis was fabulous.. just what I needed after a long work day.
ReplyDeleteThank you for also visiting my post.
Happy New Year!!
Haha...forget "Popsicle Toes"!!
ReplyDeleteOr hanging love...
ReplyDeleteI am more devious. I keep my hands warm and my toes gelid.
Spacedlaw- gelid toes smacks too much of jellied eels - or perhaps that should be gelid heels? Why can't you speak Queen's English?
ReplyDeleteOh Miss Ada, how wonderfully decadent! :)
ReplyDeleteEliza . . . do you mind, dear! It's MRS.ADA! "Miss Ada" makes me sound wonderfully decadent, like some pole-dancing Abergele slapper consorting with a sax-crazed hoodlum in a silly hat. Mind your manners and Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteyou have a great wit..enjoyed the fridgid hands routine

I thought at first this was one of those 'scrabble' games where one is requred to change one letter in a four letter word, then blushed at the realisation of where my mind strayed. More please.
Hahaha. Hilarious. So clever!

well done.
happy 2011.
Oh, I loved this! I like finding my way around someone's warmer bits, and then handing those warmer bits love! ;) This poem is very good for my, er, innocent mind...
ReplyDeleteNeeding the pick me up so I thought I would slip over to Mrs. Ada's and got just what I needed.
ReplyDeleteKristen Haskell! I'm not sure I like the thought of you getting what you need at my place? It wouldn't be a slice of Caddoc, would it? You want to watch him- he sometimes has bloodthirsty tendencies - see HERE
ReplyDeleteWe all had fun reading it!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable Magpie! Love this!
